Impossibility!

Like any other mortal on earth, Angeline had set new year resolutions for herself to achieve in 2009. Angeline heard of this saying, "Aim for the moon! Even when you fall, you will land on a STAR!" Therefore, Angeline decided to aim (much) higher this time around.

  1. Angeline is going to get a double pay raise in 2009.
  2. Angeline is going to get a promotion in 2009.
  3. Angeline is going to buy 3 Coach bags in 2009.
  4. Angeline is going to go to Taipei and Korea in 2009.
  5. Angeline is going to lose another 10kg in 2009.
  6. Angeline is going to eat less buffets in 2009.
  7. Angeline is going to get a new haircut in 2009.
  8. Angeline is going to go for more facial treatments in 2009.
  9. Angeline is going to save more money in 2009.
  10. Angeline is going to STOP DREAMING 2009.

P/S: Angeline really aims too high!
P/P/S: Angeline should really stop dreaming!

When girls meet up...

... please expect them to meet at least half an hour after the arranged time. As Angeline was running late for her gathering with Jam and Wa, Angeline texted them to apologise. After a while, Angeline received a text from Wa that read, "Latecomers will foot the bill. =)".

As a result, Angeline rushed all the way to TCC, walked around the entire restaurant and found no one. Angeline then took out her handphone to call Jam, who has just reached the mall and was in the toilet. After putting down the phone, Angeline continued to call Wa, who has just reached the carpark and was looking for a parking lot. Angeline was already late for their gathering. However, her friends were later than her. When they finally met up, Angeline told Wa to foot the bill. Wahahah!

The girls spent a long time catching up over lunch. Imagine that they were seeing each other everyday and they never run out of topics, how would it be like if they only get to meet each other once a month? That is scary to most people (especially gentlemen). Woohoo!

The next scary thing that the girls went to do is to help to boost the Singapore economy by going on a shopping spree! Angeline is sure that Ck, Amin & Jason are not interested to join them at all! Angeline is so mean!

P/S: Angeline is glad for the girls in her life.
P/P/S: Wa didn't foot the bill as promised.
P/P/P/S: Angeline really like the FOOD at TCC. Thumbs UP!

The Last One

Before Angeline bids goodbye to 2008, Angeline attended Luan's Solemnization at NSRCC, which was also the last wedding for Angeline in 2008.

2008 has been a good year for weddings and Angeline has been invited to a couple this year. Angeline is happy for her friends who have tied the knot this year and she is excited for her friends who are going to tie the knot in the following year.

Of course, Angeline would like to express her thanks to Luan for her invitation to Ck and her. Luan's Solemnization was also a perfect gathering for her poly friends and the best-est is that the wedding was held on 25 December 2008 (Christmas Day) that allowed Angeline to have a good Christmas dinner with her closed friends. Angeline is so lucky!

P/S: Angeline has managed to rob Ck to take photos with THE Christmas tree (finally).
P/P/S: Congratulations, Li Kiat & Ai Luan!

All about Christmas

Alan and Hazel hosted Christmas 2008 at their house and Angeline was invited. Together with Ck, Alex, Adriana and Aries, they welcomed Christmas at 12 midnight with a toast of Kangaroo R. Vintage.

Of course, the Christmas party was overflowed with food. Everyone was stuffed full with salads, ham, pork ribs, spicy drumlets and sushi. It was really different to digest all those food without the help of this magical game called 'Mahjong'. Not that this game helped the party goers to digest the food physically. But everyone was so engrossed with the game that no one actually remembered that they were bloated with their enormous intake of food at dinner. Surprisingly, everyone went for their second serving after the first round of 'Mahjong'. Wow seh!

After the second round of 'Mahjong' that ended at 4.30pm, everyone left Alan's house feeling very 'high'. No one is bothered about winning or losing, but who was the first to reach home to sleep. Angeline touched her bed at 6.00am. Angeline could be the last? Angeline must be the last (with a long time spent on removing her make-up).

Before Angeline forgets, Angeline would like to wish you a Merry Christmas!

P/S: Angeline is still 'high' from 'Mahjong' because she played the game again on Saturday and Sunday.
P/P/S: Angeline won (in the end)!

It's worth it

Let Angeline tell you why she is willing to spend S$250.00 for one night stay at Pan Pacific.

  1. Pan Pacific has sun blinds and curtains that are controlled by a remote.
  2. Pan Pacific has kettles that boil without any visible plug.
  3. Pan Pacific has 5 types of cables that allows you to connect to their LCD screen.
  4. Pan Pacific has a fridge that records what you take automatically.
  5. Pan Pacific has a bathtub, a shower room and a cubicle for the toilet bowl in their in-room toilet.

P/S: Angeline will patronize Pan Pacific again.
P/P/S: Angeline is going out to finish her Christmas shopping tomorrow.

In Singapore

Angeline is going on a weekend 'vacation' (as mentioned in the country - how interesting). A well-deserved break after one whole year of ****. Angeline will gladly prefer it to be in Taipei. Oh well!

P/S: Maybe Angeline will take photos of the hotel room and compare it against the one above.
P/P/S: But then again, Angeline is kind of lazy.

Exclusive!

Angeline and Ck met up with Alan and Hazel to discuss about the coming Christmas party. Of course, the dinner was the main course and the discussion was only the appetizer.

For dinner, Alan brought everyone to this restuarant that serves authentic home cooked food. The restuarant is located opposite Clarke Quay and it is actually one of those old shophouses along the streets. The walls of the restuarant are decorated with photographs of their home cooked dishes and Alan cracked a joke that they should all inspire to finish all the dishes posted on the wall. After dinner, Angeline was seriously considering Alan's joke.

P/S: Dinner was really good and CHEAP (Angeline likes)!
P/P/S: Angeline is trying to think of excuses to go back and eat again.

Fa-La-La-La-La

Angeline is officially on leave till 2009. Angeline has been waiting for this year-end leave for the longest time ever and she feels as though it is never going to come.

Before Angeline goes on leave, Angeline received her Christmas presents from her colleagues and her children (much to her surprise). Angeline still haven't gone on any Christmas shopping yet. Isn't that obvious?

Thanks to SPC, Angeline found this set of super-duper festive candies and therefore, the candies were her presents to her colleagues and her children. Angeline is so lucky!

P/S: Please don't think that Angeline will blog long story when she is on leave hor.
P/P/S: Angeline is very busy one ok?

What's NEW for a long weekend?

Nothing is new because Angeline met up with her friends to eat buffet and play overnight mahjong over the long Haji weekend that had just passed. The group of 6 went to Lerk Thai's High-Tea buffet at Marina Square. Angeline thought that it was super woth it because it only costs S$15.80 for appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks. Blogging about it is good enough to make Angeline craves to go back immediately. It is really that good, ok!

Angeline is still trying to recover from the overnight mahjong played over the long weekend. It was really a killer physically and mentally, as Angeline nearly lost all her chips and she indeed lost her sleep. Oh well!

P/S: Alan and Hazel were not featured because they were late.
P/P/S: Alex is the ONLY winner for mahjong. Please go and rob him!

The Story of the Gingerbread Man

One of Angeline's children bought a Gingerbread Man for his afternoon snack last week. Angeline saw it and teased the child if she could share the Gingerbread Man with him. The child shook his head and said no. Well, much to Angeline's expectation...

To Angeline's surprise, the child went home and asked his mother to buy Angeline a Gingerbread Man. He passed it to Angeline on the following day. Angeline was so touched. Angeline then decided to share it with Ck after work. They went to Killiney at Marina Square and enjoyed the Gingerbread Man with coffee and tea. Yummy!

P/S: Angeline broke the Gingerbread Man's arm by accident.
P/P/S: Angeline is thinking of baking Gingerbread Man for Christmas.

Do you know...

... Angeline's favourite festival is Christmas? Angeline gets sooooo excited counting down to Christmas. She is getting busy with all the Christmas shopping and the preparation for the Christmas party. Angeline really can't wait for Christmas to be here!

As a warm up for the festival, Angeline had just attended an early Christmas party held by her school. There was a gift exchange and food feast prepared for the staff. Initially, the plan was to play a game and guess the person whom you had recieved the gift from. However, the staff were more interested in the food feast. Thus, the game was officially cancelled and everyone just drew lots to exchange the gifts. Angeline got the No. 18 and it was an Esprit Towel Set. Angeline remembered that she has recieved this Towel set before. But the question is who gave it to her and where is it now?

Food feast was good with the table filled with pizzas, Kentucky fried chicken, fried chicken strips, chicken nuggets, coleslaw, mashes potatoes, Gyoza, curry puffs and soft drinks. Angeline ate the feast happily, even she was sitting in between her Director and Prinicpal. After eating, Angeline suddenly remembered that she was at the doctor with Stomach Flu the day before. Oh well! If Angeline is still blogging now, she is jolly well fine.

P/S: Ck is beginning to hunt for his CNY decorations.
P/P/S: CK's favourite festival is CNY.

This is MORE like it!

Angeline is so proud of herself. Angeline has been keeping her promise of eating healthier food. Angeline is happy to annouce that Subway sandwiches have been one of their (more) popular choice of food recently. Their favourite bread is Honey Oats and their favourite sauce is Honey Mustard.

Furthermore, Angeline thinks that Subway sandwiches are reasonably priced. For a 6-inch long sandwich, you pay about S$4 to S$7 (depending on your order). You can also choose to add another S$2.70 to upgrade to a meal that comes with a drink and a packet of chips or 2 Subway cookies. This is indeed good news for Angeline's shopping. Angeline is sure that Ck would prefer to see saving.

Actually, Angeline is still thinking if she likes Subway because their sandwiches are healthy and yummy or their cookies are delicious and unresistable. Did Angeline just say something about cookies? Please delete that. Angeline likes Subway because the food is healthy and yummy. Of course!

P/S: The cookies are really good!
P/P/S: Angeline decided to be honest about it.

Ding-Ding-Ding

Angeline's friend, Shu Ping is getting married and Angeline is invited to her bridal shower at Vanda. Of course, Angeline rememebers to get her a present to congratulate her. Angeline hopes that Shu Ping is excited about her present from the girls.

As usual, Angeline arrived late (because she was caught up at work) and everyone was eating their desserts when she got there. Angeline concluded that her friends are not very patient after all. Angeline quickly congratulated Shu Ping and Cliffton (Angeline has called him "Clifford" on a few occasions by mistake - OPPS!) and made a bee line for the food. After eating, Angeline wondered if the food was really good or she was really hungry. Nonetheless, Angeline enjoyed the Eclaris the best, so that had to be the best!

As Cliffton was around, Angeline was hestitated about taking photographs like she normally would. She waited for everyone to finish eating before she requested to take the photographs in the office. Angeline has kindly requested Cliffton to help all the girls to take a group photograph. Cliffton agreed happily and he seemed satisfied with what he had taken. After looking at the photographs, the girls exchanged the "we-better-take-it-ourselves" look. Angeline is convinced that Cliffton, Ck and Mike (Jo's hubby) would make good friends.

P/S: The photographs had been edited by Angeline accordingly.
P/P/S: Angeline has good photograph editing skills.
P/P/P/S: Angeline gives her well wishes to Shu Ping and Cliffton (especially the former because of she-knows-what).

What do you say?

This entry should not even be posted on here because it is about Angeline's buffet dinner at Tian Tian Huo Guo (Happy Pay Steamboat). Angeline don't regard eating steamboat buffet is a healthy choice (AT ALL). To convince herself (or to ease some guilt), Angeline ate a lot of vegetables (with lots of mutton, meatballs and pork's liver is more like it). Please don't be mistaken that these are the only food available at Tian Tian. The restaurant serves a wide range of food (Angeline is just being lazy not to name any), but Angeline only likes to eat these.

As recommended, Tian Tian's soup bases are really SHIOK! Angeline and her friends ordered Ma La (Hot & Spicy) together with Corn Ribs soup in the Yin Yong Pot. Each of them at least drank 2 big bowls of soup down. Angeline just told Ck that she wants to drink the Corn Ribs soup from Tian Tian this morning. Angeline swears that it is more just GOOD!

After eating so much, it is only healthy that the whole group went back to Alan's place to (dry) swim. The proposed activity is so healthy! What do you think?

P/S: The rates are quite reasonable with each adult paying only S$21.00.
P/P/S: That's why Angeline is going to eat there again soon.
P/P/P/S: What did Angeline say about eating healthier food?

A Hidden Treasure

Angeline celebrated her birthday with one of her friends (Pauline) at Hamoru Japanese Restaurant recently. As the food was really good, Angeline bought Ck back to the restaurant for dinner. Angeline could still remember how good the (simple) Garlic Fried Rice tasted. The food there is that GOOD!

Hamoru Japanese Restaurant is located at one corner of Food Republic at Sun Tec City. As both Angeline and Ck work near to that shopping mall, they meet up there quite often and had walked past by that restaurant at least one million times (ok, Angeline lied, maybe half a million times). But ever once did it occur to them that it was a Japanese Restaurant. Angeline all along had presumed that it was just any other stall at the food court.

You mean you KNOW?

P/S: Angeline is tempted to eat there tonight.
P/P/S: Angeline is thinking of eating the Garlic Fried Rice!
