Recieved this email from one of my ex-colleagues - Eleanor.. it evokes thoughts within.. made me reflect about my life..
All I hear in this little island from my community is complaints, complaints and more complaints..
Let's take a look at the email and you will know how good your life is..
If you think you are unhappy, look at them. At least we are not encountering any natural disasters, we still have our housing and a stable job to lead a good lifestyle.
If you think your job is tough, how about him? I believe most of us are working in an air-conditioner office.. we are not exposed to the harsh weather conditions.. what are you still complaining about?
If you think your salary is low, how about her? Money is never enough.. everyone need money to survive.. isnt ur salary decent enough to provide you with 3 good meals.. proper housing.. n pay for ur expenses.. some of us are even able to afford luxuries such as holidays and a car.. still not enough?
If you think you don't have many friends, he only has a dog for company. It doesn't take alot to know a new friend.. but it is how you keep the friendship that counts.. no matter how busy you are.. it will only take you a couple of minutes to send a sms to let your friends know that you CARE!
If you think study is a burden, how about her? Think about our local education system (pre-school, primary, secondary, collage, poly, tertiary) .. our rich teaching resources (computers, interactive CD-Roms, 3D materials, powerpoints, and the list goes on) .. our school buildings and their facilities (gym, swimming pool, library, computer labs, and many more, isnt it?) .. NOW you know..
If you complaint about your transport system, how about them? I know the fares are all increasing.. because the standard is increasing as well.. don't you get to enjoy public transport that are newly designed? Is it convenient for you to travel around in this island? Isn't there a direct route for you to reach your destination within a relatively short period of time? Not good enough?
If you think you have suffered in life, do you suffer as much as he does? I guess it's just not easy to handle hardship for many young Singaporeans.. I don't know about others.. but I am still learning how to appreciate the many fine things that I have in my life now.. not easy at all..
When you feel like giving up, think of this man! The life journey is never a bed of roses.. but if you don't keep walking.. you will miss out the best experiences in life.. so just keep walking, walking & walking.. CHEERS!
