Gastronomia with LJWS

Angeline went out with LJWS last friday to Gastronomia near Serene Centre. Angeline will like to highlight 3 points here. Please take note:
  • LJWS refers to Lissa, Jamilah, Wahila and Shu Ping.
  • Gastronomia was spelled as Gastronmia in the photoshop collage because Angeline was too lazy to change.
  • Gastronomia is NOT located at Serene Centre as mentioned on the photoshop collage, so please do NOT go looking for it there.
Angeline shall continue blogging then.

Angeline and LJWS ordered 3 slices of Pizza (Mushroom, Salmon & Beef), Pasta Salad, Butternut Pumpkin, Beef Goulash and Yoghurt Bread Crumble for sharing. Angeline forgot the total cost, she only rememebered that the 5 of them had paid S$12.50 each. If you still don't know the total cost, Angeline suggests that you can hire her as your private tutor.

Angeline love the food and she will give 3 out of 5 stars happily. Angeline even intended to drag Ck to dine there today. As a matter of fact, Ck is more of the 'Cheena' food person. Angeline really like the concept of the place. Customers just have to go to the counter to order the food, pay for their purchase, find a seat outdoors and start eating. Angeline thinks that it is something similar to the Alfresco dining concept in Europe. But honestly, it is really just a HIGHER class fast food place. WAHAHA! Don't chey Angeline la!

As usual, LJWS could not touch the yummy-looking food until Angeline had her photos taken. In fact, Angeline thought she was very kind to take lovely photos of them and she doesn't mind being the last one to eat. Don't chey Angeline again la! Honestly? Angeline knew she was just being vain. HAPPY?

The 4 Beauties at Gastronomia - LJWS, don't be too happy, scroll down!

The MOST Pretty One at Gastronomia - KIDDING LA!

J paid for dinner at the counter. As usual, Angeline and LWS said "THANK YOU" to her promptly. Too bad, she didn't get the hint literally. So in the end, Angeline and LWS still had to paid S$12.50. The evidence is as follow:

J was collecting money from all her debtors, Angeline and LWS.

After all the drama, everyone decided to eat their dinner. Well, maybe everyone except Angeline. She continued to take more 'natural' pictures of the 4 beauties.

W and L were listening to S's exchange of widsom - FINE! The more layman's term = Gossip la!

L and S's turn to listen to W's exchange of wisdom. Do NOT make me repeat.

Honestly speaking, Angeline knew that she was running the risk of being murdered ruthlessly by LJWS. She took such unglamourous photos of them and published it online literally. To think Angeline still could claim that she is a good photographer. Don't chey Angeline again and again la! To prove herself right, please scroll down to see the MOST 'natural' photographs of the 4 beauties and not forgetting, the MOST pretty one.

W and L's Sensodyne Smile - W thought that Angeline has that kind of smile whenever she takes photos, therefore the nickname appeared.

Angeline and L's Sensodyne Smile - Please say "Sensodyne" whenever you want to take photo for the best effect.

Angeline and S's Sensodyne Smile - Angeline thought they looked quite alike.

Angeline and J's Sensodyne Smile - Angeline didn't photoshop this photo but the effect is already there. *bish*

Since the topic was focused on 'photography', Angeline shared with the 4 beauties that everyone got a better looking side. As usual, they don't believe Angeline's words. What to do? Angeline had to prove them right again. Angeline took the right and left sides of J and S. Once again, what to do? Angeline is RIGHT!

J's Left Side

J's Right Side

S's Left Side

S's Right Side

So, the question is J looks better on the right or left? And, the next question is what about S? To Angeline, it doesn't matter because it is not HER right or left. Chey Angeline again. It is okay. Angeline is getting used to it.

One good news (or maybe not so good) for LJWS, Angeline had photoshopped the gathering at Gastronomia.

  • L - I really added the most unglamourous photo of you here.
  • J - I thought you love the most sensual photo that you have taken on that day.
  • W - I rememered that you agree to take that photo, so here it is.
  • S - You really don't look werid la.

Angeline is quite happy with her work. HURRAY!

Desserts with MMC

Angeline went to Cafe Cartel at Bukit Panjang Plaza (BPP) on 1 May 2008 with MMC. MMC? Mummy, Marlyn and Celine. How can Angeline remember the date so well after two weeks? Because Angeline celebrated her grandma's 80th birthday on that date. Since Daddy got to go to 257 to settle some accounts, Angeline and MMC decided to visit BPP for some desserts.

Angeline paid for the desserts because she got 10% discount by paying with UOB cards. Therefore, friends who want to dine at Cafe Cartel, please pay with your UOB debit or credit cards to be eligible for the discount. Please DO NOT be mistaken that Angeline is doing advertorial for Cafe Cartel or Angeline will recieve a commission when she posts this entry. Nothing of those sort!

Celine insisted on ordering this Eastside Brownie - 3.5 / 5 stars

Angeline is adamant to try this Bread Pudding from Cafe Cartel - 4 / 5 stars.

Angeline and Celine at Cafe Cartel

Angeline was happy that the Bread Pudding tasted yummy with the icy Vanilla Ice-Cream.

Celine looked equally delighted to be eating her famous Eastside Brownie.

Mummy has no preferences about the two desserts.

After eating the desserts, Angeline suddenly felt very guilty. In a day, she went to eat Tim Sum at Red Star for brunch, took buffet at Grandma's house for dinner and had desserts at Cafe Cartel for supper. OH NO! Angeline rushed home to work on U-Zap immediately. Angeline hopes it helps!

Shall I or Shall I not?

Angeline is in a dilemma. She couldn't make up her mind. About what? Angeline couldn't decide whether to perm her hair or not? Silly? FINE!

Angeline took leave on 2 May 2008 to go to SchoolHouse by the Bay to sign her new employment contract. She has tendered her resignation from Gracefields Childcare and she will join the new pre-school officially on 30 June 2008. Angeline miss teaching badly and wants to teach again. Lying? Yes. SchoolHouse by the Bay is offering Angeline a higher pay with 13th month bonus. Happy? Of course.

Since Angeline has another half a day to herself in the afternoon, she decided to go for a haircut at Jean Yip. She quickly made a call to Daryl and fixed an appointment for an hour later. Honestly, Angeline was getting bored of her long, flat, thick and untidy hair. She asked Daryl to suggest a new hairstyle. To her surprise, Daryl asked her to try perming it. Not as if Angeline has forgotten how the last perm has turned out. In short, Angeline looks perfectly like an AUNTIE. But Daryl insisted that she tried larger curls at the hair ends, which will make Angeline look better. Not very confident of it, Angeline decided to ask Daryl to set her hair first before making a decison. Unbelieveable! Angeline actually likes what she saw in the mirror. Oh dear! Now the question is "SHALL I OR SHALL I NOT?

Since the perm will cost around S$200, Angeline turned to Ck for some opinions. As usual, Ck is more interested to get his dinner settled. Therefore, the pair walked around United Square and found a Korean restaurant. One glance at the prices, Angeline and Ck walked into it and sat down happily. It was Ck's treat to celebrate for Angeline in getting a new job. After much browsing and whinning, both Angeline and Ck got a Chicken Bibimbap each and Rice Flour Dumpling Soup for sharing.

Bibimbap

Bibimbap Sauce, Anchovies & Kimchi

Bean Sprouts, Sesame Vegetables & Bibimbap Sauce

Ck was reading Angeline's Contract.

Angeline and Ck after the meal.

Angeline couldn't help to show off her temporary curls.

Angeline really likes her new curls.

Look! Nice right?

Angeline is super tempted to perm her hair again. Ck's opinion is S$200 is a little bit expensive and the maintenance of the curls will cost more money. This is indeed troubling for Angeline.

Now, the question is SHALL I OR SHALL I NOT?

Sports Day at Sporty's Joe

Angeline decided to try something new for Sports Day this year. Instead of the regular routine of getting young children to experience different outdoor stations, Angeline brought this bunch of toddlers to Sporty's Joe at Turf City. Well, it was definitely worth the price that Angeline was quoted by Joe, who was one of the gym instructors. Oh ya, any smart ass would also have guess correctly that Sporty's Joe is owned by JOE himself. Therefore, no prizes for those got it right. However, if you got it wrong, Angeline is wondering why?

Upon arrival, the children were asked to start with the warming-up exercise. They were quickly joined by other children from the same age group. Nonetheless, they were not shy and were keen to participate in the exercises with their new found friends. All the children were seated in a circle before Joe began to direct them to do their shaking, bending and jumping.

Joe was leading the children in their warm-up exercises.

S-t-r-e-t-c-h

Alvin was trying to touch his toes.

Nikkie and Kylene were trying to stretch their hands.

Jump! Jump! Jump!

After warming up, the children were guided through the obstacle course where different shapes and sizes of soft foams were wating for them. At this station, they got the opportunity to climb, jump, crawl, roll and flip. Some of them got tired and decided to use the soft foam as a chair for them to take a rest. They were indeed belong to the new generation.

Kylene was trying to jump over the hoops.

Alvin was trying to do a somersault, of course Joe was there to help.

Alvin and Nikki were trying to overcome the soft foam in the shape of the waves.

Rui Kang and Royce were trying to crawl through the tiny tunnels.

Here was Caden stealing a rest!

Royce was unaware that Alvin was trying to crawl through the tunnel.

Nikki was trying to crawl down the slope.

Kylene did her best to over the waves!

Rui Kang gave up crawling through the tunnel.

After 15 minutes of the obstacle course, Joe challenged the children to the swing bar, where they have to grap hold of the bar and swing to and fro. It was indeed a tough test of their arm strength and co-ordination to latch on the bars. Well, nothing is really too tough for this bunch of energetic toddlers!

Royce was trying to latch on the swing bar.

Kylene managed to latch on at her first attempt! Way to go, girl!

Caden tried to latch on with Joe's help.

Alvin enjoyed the swing bar immensely.

What's next? All the children were still full of excitment when Joe announced that balancing beam was the next station. There were 2 balancing beam at the station. One is just for the children to practice walking to get a feel of it, thus it is rather low. The next one is almost reaching Angeline's waist, so it should be at least 1 metre off the ground. But the children were not intimidated by the height and they were rather keen to jump off when they reach the end. Bravo!

Royce's first attempt at the lower balancing beam.

The twins took a quick and steady walk on the balancing beam.

Royce's first attempt at the higher balancing beam.

Kylene was slow but steady at the balancing beam.

Now that the children have all warmed up with Joe and their new friends, they were ready for MORE actions at the trampoline, where they can jump and jump and JUMP! Joe was even complimenting that these children could jump as well as the Kangaroos from Australia. WOW! Imagine that?

Kylene was first to start!

Alvin tried to jump on it with Joe's help.

Kylene loved it so much that she wanted to try again and this time she tried it together with Royce.

Caden looked happier jumping at the other trampoline with the girls.

Nikki in action!

That was a lot of hard work from everyone. Angeline got tired just looking at all the bouncy pouncy troucy Kangaroos jumping up and down and the trampoline. It suited Angeline perfectly when Joe annouced that it was time for the next station, the swing hoops, where children have to grap hold to the 2 hoops and use their arm strength to swing to and fro. Although this station was similar to the swing bar, Angeline thought it was more challenging, as it wasn't as easy as it seem to grap hold of the 2 hoops at one attempt for the young children. All the best!

Royce did it at his first attempt.

Kylene needed some help from Joe.

Alvin was in love with the swing hoops, he just love to swing to and fro.

Caden tried and didn't make it. He must be still trying to recover from his flu bug.

Finally, the children were gathered on the soft carpet for cooling down exercises. Honestly, Angeline thought they were more excited than before when they saw the parachute that Joe brought with him. What's more exciting for them when they could go on top and beneath the BIG and COLOURFUL parachute?

Everyone was shaking the parachute with great force.

Now, LIFT the parachute up!

Everyone, go on the parachute!!

And under the parachute!!

Last but not least, the gym session ended with a song entitled "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". This was the children's favourite song in school when they did body parts as January's theme. They were so familiar with the song and had no problem catching up with Joe at all. Well done!

"Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes"

Alvin tried to touch his toes.

Rui Kang tried to follow the actions in his own way.

After all the hard work, Joe rewarded everyone with a sticker!

Angeline was very glad that she has brought the children to Sporty's Joe. Not only it was fun and exhilarating, it also helped to promote children's gross motor skills spontaneously. Angeline made a wise choice. Indeed, indeed.
