NOT The Best of Both Worlds

Angeline is tempted to go to Taiwan and Korea this year. Ck will most probably faint at the thought of it. Angeline is still thinking which country to choose. Is it really too much to go to two countries in 1 year?

Angeline shall make a wise choice to avoid Ck's unhappiness.

For friends who know Angeline well enough, you will have known that 5771 is the car plate of Angeline's car. Thanks to 5771, Angeline and her gamily went to Fu Man Lou at Hotal Royal @ Queens for a hearty dinner (completed with KTV session).

The dishes that were served were superb but Angeline didn't take any photographs of the food because she was sharing a table with her aunties and uncles. Imagine their shock when they see Angeline taking photographs of every dish that was served to the table. Therefore, it wasn't really Angeline's fault at all.

A good meal to reward Angeline for a week of hard work and to encourage Angeline to continue working after dinner. This is LIFE!

Overdosed with Caffeine

Angeline is seriously overdosed with caffeine. To kick start her day, she will drown herself in one big mug of Cafe Latte. During lunch, she can't resist the temptation of drinking a Iced Latte. After dinner, she loves to drink 'kopi' with Ck at the Wangs Cafe. In a day, Angeline will have at least 3 cups of beverages that contain caffeine. Is that a little bit too much?

Naturally, Angeline definitely won't reject SD's offer to have coffee at Gloria Jean's after dinner. Angeline should really start reducing her intake of caffeine. Oh well! But the question is, "How can you not order coffee when you are meeting a friend to chit chat?" You don't really expect Angeline to order a cup of hot milk right?

P/S: Coffee at Gloria Jean's was just 'coffee'.
P/P/S: Angeline still prefer the coffee from Coffee Bean.

The Importance of Speaking Good English

Example 1

Angeline was literally tickled by one of her children last Tuesday.

It happened during her Circle Time in school. She was engaged in a discussion about their favourite toy with the children when she suddenly heard a "NO LA". As Ms Angeline is strongly against the children using Singlish in her class, she immediately responded, "NO 'LA'."

Just at that instance, another child called out, "Ms Angeline, you said 'LA'. Ms Angeline did not know whether to laugh or to cry at that child's enthusiasm of speaking good English. Thus, Ms Angeline tried to explain that she was trying to tell the friend not to use the 'LA'. However, that child did not look very convinced. Maybe Ms Angeline should have said, "Please don't use 'LA' in my class." Oh well!


Example 2

The children were engaged in Guess and Share with Ms Angeline last Thursday. As the children were taking turns to raise their hands to guess the object in the Guess and Share Bag, one child was called upon to ask a question, "You got it from where?" Ms Angeline rephrased the question and said, "Where did you get the Guess and Share from?" Once again, Ms Angeline reminded the children not to place the word 'where' at the end of the question.

After which, it was time for dismissal. Ms Angeline brought the children to the canteen and waited for the parents to pick up their child. As Ms Angeline waved good bye to the children, their parents would ask their child to say good bye to her. Naturally, the child said, "Bye, Bye!". And the parents would then ask, "Bye, Bye, WHO?" Ms Angeline nearly fainted on the spot. Need she say more?

It's been a while!

After much much much coordination, Angeline finally met up with Tim and John. As everyone was (too) busy with work and was too tired to meet up after work, the trio decided to meet up on a Saturday afternoon where they can sit down, relax, enjoy a meal together. This plan finally work out on the last day of February.

The venue of Marina Square was chosen by Angeline, as she needed to do her Manicure and Pedicure there after the gathering. The restaurant CA was chosen by John, as he was the first to arrive after being 15 minutes later than the arranged time. As Tim was the latest, he didn't get the chance to choose. Angeline and John were not being mean to Tim. They merely helped him to decide.

The trio spent about 3 hours at CA of Marina Square just for lunch. They started with a round of Potato Soup, continued to share the three main courses and finished up with a scoop of Vanilla ice-cream each. The rest of the time was used for updating, sharing and debating. Angeline posted a topic, 'Trust comes first or Love comes first?' Both Tim and John agreed that it has to be TRUST. To which Angeline debated till she convinced them that LOVE comes first. Angeline's point is very simple, which is 'You need to love a person blindly before you are willing to trust that person.' John's point is 'When you love a person, you give that person the right to hurt you, trusting that the person won't.' Tim has no point. He is confused.

P/S: Angeline and the rest debated whether if we should invite our partners for the next round.
P/P/S: Everyone agreed that we should not. The reason is quite obvious.

Angeline is confused again

After much efforts, Angeline finally found out that the Crystal Jade branch at IMM is called Crystal Jade Dining Place and not Crystal Jade Palace Restaurant. Before Angeline loaded the photographs, Angeline remembered asking Ck to double confirmed her doubts. Well, Angeline guessed that Ck was as confused as her.

Angeline and Ck went to Crystal Jade Dining Place at IMM with Hazel and Alan. Angeline strongly recommeded the food at the restaurant. The food was a little pricey but Angeline thought that it was worth the money. Angeline fell in love with the pot of soup, which was thick and full of ingredients. To add more credits, Ck, Alan and Hazel were full of praises for the soup too. Yum-Yum! The rest of dishes like Braised Beancurd with Conpoy Mushroom and Pines Nuts and Fried Silver Fishes were also highly recommended by Angeline.

A good meal to end the week and kick-start a fresh week!

Enlighten Angeline pls!

When Angeline and Ck were both tired from a week's work, they would randomly walk into any restaurant and eat their dinner. To that extent, Angeline don't even know the name of the restarant and could only name it 'Korean Place'. Angeline is not trying to be funny here, ok?

This 'Korean Place' is located at the fountain food area of Sun Tec City. Angeline assumed that this is the only restaurant that serves Korean food, thus the name was given. As Angeline was really drained from her work (physically and mentally), all food tasted the same to her. Believe it!

Angeline wondered where did she get the energy to take the photographs from? Angeline suddenly rememebered. Angeline was anxious to show off her new dress because Ck got it for her on Valentine's Day. Looking at the photographs, Angeline was disappointed. As the saying goes 'Better than Nothing', Angeline shall just take it.

When Angeline's phone went low batt, ...

Angeline could only upload limited photographs. If you think that Angeline and Ck just ate one claypot of Congee and one plate of Char Siew Rice Rolls for dinner, you don't really know the couple very well. The couple actually had another serving of Shrimp Dumplings, Siew Mai and Sweet and Sour Pork Claypot Rice. Hee!

It seems like Angeline is resoluted to gain some weight. If you know Angeline well enough, Angeline is just kidding. Angeline actually fed Ck with the food. Once again, this was another smart act committed by Angeline.

From the menu, 'Bao Today' serves a (quite) variety of 'bao' (buns). However, it seemed that Angeline and Ck were not attracted by the 'baos' at all. They totally skipped it altogether. As Angeline typed this entry, Angeline began to wonder why. This could be a reason to go back again to eat the 'baos'.

P/S: FYI, Bao Today is located at Marina Square.

Is it TRUE?

Angeline attended the annual Chinese New Year gathering at Jo's house with the rest of her girlfriends. As Jo was away in Taipei with her family, Angeline has not met her for a few months. Therefore, Angeline was looking forward to the gathering.

After the gathering, Angeline thinks that it is better to meet up after a few more months because Angeline needs time to put on weight. Jo told Angeline that she has lost too much weight and she is actually looking sick. Oh no! Angeline's work is really eating her to that extent. Angeline is getting paranoid about her weight now. Before this, Angeline kept thinking that she was fat. Now, Angeline thinks that she is sick when she loses weight. Did Angeline mention that she can be really paranoid? It is really easy to tell.

Nonetheless, Angeline has a good time catching up with the girls, talking about the old good times and 'scaring' one another with the horror stories are always the MUST. Cheers to Vanda for those memories!

Season Greetings!

Angeline has been really busy with her Chinese New Year's visiting. To the extent, Angeline has not even text anyone to wish them a 'Happy Chinese New Year'. Angeline is not being lazy, Angeline is just going to wait for the 15th day of the New Year before she send out her well wishes to her friends. Since the tradition is to send texts on the eve, 1st or 2nd day of the New Year, Angeline shall break through the tradition and send her text on the 15th. Wahahaha!

A Jolly Good Laugh

Angeline met up with her girls for their monthly gathering. Of course, Angeline had a fantastic time with them, not just fantastic because the gossips were juicy. Angeline missed spending time with the girls. The BOYS really don't get it!

Half way through the dinner, Jam was just commenting that it has been a long time since she has laughed so much. At the back of Angeline's mind, she totally agreed with Jam because she has not been laughing so hard for a long time too. Not that her girls were really that funny, Angeline would think she is much funnier (in comparison). But there is really nothing much that happy in Angeline's current life to laugh about, especially when Angeline is working nearly 12 hours during the weekdays.

Btw, if you don't believe that Angeline is funny. Angeline would like to share a joke that got the girls laughing really hard. While the girls were talking about the MIL issue, another girl from the next table walked over and asked Angeline to take a group photograph for them. Without a second thought, Angeline replied, "Sure, she (pointing to Shu Ping) will do it for you." That was a natural reaction from Angeline to volunteer Shu Ping. However, the girls was stunned by her reaction and burst out laughing. Oh well!

Did Angeline forget to mention about the dinner? Maybe it was because the dinner was so-so but the company was fabulous. If you can't tell where did the girls went for dinner by looking at the photographs, Angeline would like to tell you that the location was at Dempsey's Ben & Jerry's.

Gong Hei Fa Choi

Angeline decided to be (more) sincere in wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year by sending her best wishes on the eve. In the year of the 'OX', Angeline wishes that everyone (including herself) is blessed with good fortune and good health. Angeline don't think that it is too much to wish for good Mahjong luck for herself. Hee!

P/S: Angeline is going to play Mahjong this evening.
P/P/S: Angeline needs to win after spending S$150.00 on her nails.

Best Bargain

Angeline has been missing in action for a while but you really can't blame her. She has been drowning in work and she really can't help it. To compensate, Angeline shall recommend Gelare's Tuesday Waffles Special. All waffles sold at Gelare on Tuesday are at a 50% discount. So you are someone who likes to eat waffles or you are someone who likes ice-cream or you are somone who likes both waffles and ice-cream, you should make your way down to Gelare NOW (not now now now because today is NOT Tuesday). Hee!

Btw, Angeline is able to blog because she is given 4 days Medical leave and she is stuck at home. After finishing ALL her undone paperwork, she was left with a few hours to blog. Isn't she lucky, considering that she still has a few hours left for herself when she was on a 96 hours leave. Angeline thinks that you got the picture on how heavy her workload is really like now.

P/S: Angeline was down with severe food poisoning. Boo!

'Profits' Vs 'Loses'

In 2008, Angeline gained some and lost some. Of course, Angeline is happy about her 'profits' and is learning to recover from her 'loses'.

2008 had been an eventful year for Angeline. Reflecting back, it could have been one of Angeline's most unforgettable period in her life. Angeline used the phrase 'could have been' because Angeline is still living her life and there 'could have been' more for her to experience.

Nonetheless, Angeline is still looking foward to live her life to the fullest in 2009.

Loses that Angeline went through in 2008:

1. Angeline lost her sleep.
2. Angeline lost her time.
3. Angeline lost her youth.
4. Angeline lost her energy.
5. Angeline lost her weight.

Profits that Angeline gained in 2008:

1. Angeline gained friendship.
2. Angeline gained confidence.
3. Angeline gained self-respect.
4. Angeline gained maturity.
5. Angeline gained patience.

P/S: Angeline is having FRIDAY blues because she needs to go back to work after a 3 weeks break.

Impossibility!

Like any other mortal on earth, Angeline had set new year resolutions for herself to achieve in 2009. Angeline heard of this saying, "Aim for the moon! Even when you fall, you will land on a STAR!" Therefore, Angeline decided to aim (much) higher this time around.

1. Angeline is going to get a double pay raise in 2009.
2. Angeline is going to get a promotion in 2009.
3. Angeline is going to buy 3 Coach bags in 2009.
4. Angeline is going to go to Taipei and Korea in 2009.
5. Angeline is going to lose another 10kg in 2009.
6. Angeline is going to eat less buffets in 2009.
7. Angeline is going to get a new haircut in 2009.
8. Angeline is going to go for more facial treatments in 2009.
9. Angeline is going to save more money in 2009.
10. Angeline is going to STOP DREAMING 2009.

When girls meet up...

... please expect them to meet at least half an hour after the arranged time. As Angeline was running late for her gathering with Jam and Wa, Angeline texted them to apologise. After a while, Angeline received a text from Wa that read, "Latecomers will foot the bill. =)".

As a result, Angeline rushed all the way to TCC, walked around the entire restaurant and found no one. Angeline then took out her handphone to call Jam, who has just reached the mall and was in the toilet. After putting down the phone, Angeline continued to call Wa, who has just reached the carpark and was looking for a parking lot. Angeline was already late for their gathering. However, her friends were later than her. When they finally met up, Angeline told Wa to foot the bill. Wahahah!

The girls spent a long time catching up over lunch. Imagine that they were seeing each other everyday and they never run out of topics, how would it be like if they only get to meet each other once a month? That is scary to most people (especially gentlemen). Woohoo!

The next scary thing that the girls went to do is to help to boost the Singapore economy by going on a shopping spree! Angeline is sure that Ck, Amin & Jason are not interested to join them at all! Angeline is so mean!

P/S: Angeline is glad for the girls in her life.
P/P/S: Wa didn't foot the bill as promised.

The Last One

Before Angeline bids goodbye to 2008, Angeline attended Luan's Solemnization at NSRCC, which was also the last wedding for Angeline in 2008.

2008 has been a good year for weddings and Angeline has been invited to a couple this year. Angeline is happy for her friends who have tied the knot this year and she is excited for her friends who are going to tie the knot in the following year.

Of course, Angeline would like to express her thanks to Luan for her invitation to Ck and her. Luan's Solemnization was also a perfect gathering for her poly friends and the best-est is that the wedding was held on 25 December 2008 (Christmas Day) that allowed Angeline to have a good Christmas dinner with her closed friends. Angeline is so lucky!

P/S: Angeline has managed to rob Ck to take photos with THE Christmas tree (finally).
