Aww, soooooooo SWEET!

Angeline met up with her precious for brunch. Angeline was so excited about the gathering because Angeline has been so busy with work that she didn't get to meet precious for many many months.

As usual, the arrangement was to meet up at Cafe Cartel (IMM) because precious wanted her free flow of bread and it was the nearest shopping mall for everyone. When precious saw Angeline, she commented that her eyes looked different. Bish! Angeline replied her that the eyes are different because of the eye liner and the effect is to achieve bigger eyes. Precious didn't look very convinced. Oh well!

It was indeed a fabulous gathering with precious and her mei mei. Both girls have grown so much since Angeline last met them. Angeline is sure that Raymong and Pauline are very proud of their two daughters.

Of course, they MUST take a photograph together before parting. It really wasn't easy. It took at least 5 tries before the photograph was well-taken. Raymond was trying his best to get Geraldine to look at the camera. At last, mission was completed. Hee!

P/S: Angeline is enjoying her annual leave now and she is blogging from her hotel room at Marina Mandarin. Wah Seh!
P/P/S: She is going back to Vanda to meet up with her ex-colleagues after settling some stuff at the hotel. Yippee!

One Sunday Morning

With a very very very very very craving for Cafe Cartel morning breakfast set, Angeline 'begged' Ck to go along with her. With the 'sweetest' partner in her world, Angeline got her wish! Yippee!

"Wow Seh Man!"

Believe it or not, Angeline and Ck waited for TCC at Great World City to be renovated and resumed business for the past 4 months (or was it MORE?). It was a great place to chill out for a lazy Saturday evening.

Fortunately, it FINALLY resumed business when Angeline and Ck drove past 2 Saturdays ago and they quickly parked the car and couldn't wait to see what was the fuss about the renovation all about.

"Wow Seh Man!" TCC at Great World City is gorgeous! It is called the Art Boutique and the entire design was awesome! Angeline loves it but Ck thinks that it is just another gimmick because the food and drinks are more pricey now. Haha!

The evening spent at TCC was lovely, with Angeline and Ck playing games to entertain each other. After so many years, Angeline finally found the meaning of self-entertainment. Impressive!

P/S: Angeline meant to include photographs about the decor of the Art Boutique, but you know la.
P/P/S: Angeline won most of the games that night!

Not scared right?

Angeline has always been scared of putting on weight but she still likes to eat good food leh. How ah? Exercise huh? Cannot, Angeline got no time to run. Excuse? Of course la, cannot tell meh?

After much consideration, Angeline decided to continue eating and she is praying very hard that her weight will remain more or less the same with God's help. Funny huh? Laugh lor!

Angeline and Ck went back to Schoolhouse to pick up some books. Since it was (more or less) on the way, Angeline suggested to go and eat the 'wanton mee' at Joo Chiat Place. It was her parents' favourite 'wanton mee' stall in Singapore. Ck went along as 'wanton mee' is Chinese food, try asking him to eat at Gastronomia (Italian), he will most probably suggest Bishan 'Zi Char'.

After eating, Ck thought that it was just 'wanton mee', nothing special about it. Oh well! Angeline will stick to the Bishan 'Zi Char' the next time. That is HOW MUCH Ck loves that stall.

P/S: Angeline also likes the Bishan 'Zi Char' la.
P/P/S: The food is good and inexpensive.

Hush-Hush

Angeline and Ck took half day leave for a hush-hush reason. Angeline did it deliberately to tease you. If you know the reason, you will know it by now. If not, you don't really need to know the reason la.

Before the hush-hush event, Angeline and Ck decided to go and energize themselves with food, to supply them with enough 'power' ah. As Angeline was craving for prata badly, Angeline suggested to eat Jalan Kayu Prata at United Square (yes la, they have a branch there).

Since Angeline was not driving that day, they had to take MRT (Angeline's least favourite public transportation). Since it was so memorable that Angeline was taking 'THE MRT', she must take photographs leh! Ck was left stunned but he still had to smile at the camera.

After eating, Angeline and Ck left (grumpily) for the hush-hush event. The food sucked! It was their 3rd visit to that place, but this time round, the food was totally tasteless. The 'teh tarik' and 'teh halia' were the most horrible with a strong stench of tea leaves. As for the rest of the food, it was just practically tasteless. Bad review from Angeline and it will take a LONG time if Angeline is going to be stepping in again.

P/S: Hush-hush event turned out EXCELLENT!
P/P/S: Angeline bought a pair of high-heeled shoes as she walked past a shop before she went for the hush-hush event and Ck was '...'.

This is NO joke!

As Alan's wedding is drawing near, Angeline needs to look for a gown to wear to the banquet. Angeline is not being vain to get a new gown. She MUST get it because she is going to be the MC.

After work, Angeline met up with Ck to look for one gown that fits Angeline. After 2 hours of trying evening gowns non-stop and not being able to find one, Angeline decided that she desperately needed an ice-cream to boost her energy level up. With a sudden craving for Turkish ice-cream, she decided to drop by Far East Plaza for a cone.

When they reached the place, Angeline made an 'excuse' that she needed to go and pay money at the Cashier and asked Ck to help her to 'collect' the ice-cream from the seller. Hee! Angeline is so mean. For those who didn't try the Turkish ice-cream before, Angeline shall inform you (kindly) that the seller will trick you with a variety of his funny stunts before giving you the ice-cream. God bless Ck!

Unknown to Ck, Angeline was taking photographs of him trying to 'collect' the ice-cream for her. No easy eh, Ck only got it after 3 minutes or so. Hee! Thankfully, Ck was such a good sports! He even posed for a photograph with the seller after that! Awww, so sweet!

Angeline was licking her ice-cream happily when Ck asked for some. But Angeline remember that Ck don't really fancy ice-ceam. Oh! Maybe it was the hard work that he went through, so he needed to taste it. It was really just ice-cream lor!

P/S: The wedding banquet is TONIGHT (19th October 2008).
P/P/S: Angeline is going to stay at Marina Mandarin for a night! HURRAY!

Just like Old Good Times

Angeline met up with her 2 best-est friends from Black Tea Box and she realized how much laughter she has been missing in her life (thanks to work-related issues). Well, at least Angeline thinks that she has compensated herself with more than enough laughter that evening.

Since many years back (Angeline lost count deliberately), the 3 of them have been very good friends. They could chat about ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING under the sun (Angeline literally means it). Angeline can't mention anything about it because Angeline is worried about losing her head. It's true. Beside, you really don't want to know.

Angeline is thankful for all the special friends that she has made in her life. Because of them, Angeline's life is exciting (sometimes boring is good too) and dramatic (sometimes monotonous is good as well). Hee! Angeline is still thankful to you la.

P/S: Angeline is still trying to recover from her overnight MJ on Friday night.

P/P/S: Angeline is going to have a busy day on tomorrow (Sunday).

Unbelieveable!

Angeline's favourite day of the month is PAY DAY! With the (not-so-high) pay in Angeline's bank account, Angeline decided to give Ck a treat at Ichiban Boshi. As Ck was mugging for his exams, it was agreed that they would meet at Toa Payoh for sushi. But then aagin, Sun Tec area was out of the questions (because of road closure) and Ck doesn't like Orchard. So, there wasn't really an option.

When Angeline arrived at Toa Payoh, she nearly strangled Ck. Angeline totally felt like a sardine packed in a tin when she was on the train to Toa Payoh. Even before this incident, Angeline don't fancy taking the train. With this crazy crowd onboard the trains at peak hours, Angeline swore that she will NEVER take a train (at peak hours) again.

Ok, Angeline returned to her good humour (soon enough), as food has always been therapeutic for her. Half-way through the dinner, Ck told Angeline that his mother asked him if he is looking for a flat in their area and she has helped to ask around for the market price. Angeline suddenly thought of the debts that she owed and shrugged. That (sort of) marked the end of the topic.

After dinner, Angeline and Ck were shopping at Popular where Angeline was 'approached' by an 'insurance agent'. As Angeline was browsing through the 'NEW HIGHWAY CODE' book (FYI, Angeline got her licence 4 years ago), she did not see the face of that 'insurance agent'. Just as Angeline looked up with the intention of telling him to try his luck somewhere else, that person turned out to be Wilson. Pleasant surprise BUT Angeline still won't buy insurance from him (even if he is really an insurance agent). Haha!

This way or that?

Angeline is very impressive with herself. Despite having 2 class excursions in 1 day, Angeline still could meet up with Ck for supper. Angeline wondered was it the food or Ck that Angeline has missed? Heh!

Angeline has been eating at this prata shop for the past 2 to 3 years. It really serves good teh tarik and prata. Angeline has recommended it to a few of her friends and brought them to visit the shop. However, Angeline is only able to tell you that the shop is located at Bishan (due to her poor logistics). Sorry la! You can always ask Angeline to bring you there what.

A short and sweet date with Ck has sent Angeline straight to La La Land when she got home. Ok, Angeline was really tired.

P/S: Angeline thinks that she still look good after having 2 excursions with her class in 1 day!

Need anot?

Angeline really don't want to blog about food all the time. BUT everyone needs to eat. Therefore, Angeline is just being a practical blogger.

Thanks to the road closure (Angeline hopes that you are aware of it), Angeline managed to ask Ck successfully to meet at Vivo (Ck doesn't like the mall because it is TOO crowded - LONG queues for the makan places and NO parking lots available). So, it was indeed a miracle that Ck agreed to meet at Vivo.

When Ck saw the long queues at Kim Gary and Marche, he didn't appear to be too thrilled about meeting at Vivo then. Luckily, Angeline saved the day by bringing him to 'The Chicken Rice Shop' at Basement 1. After dinner, Ck told Angeline that he likes the food there. Phew!

Really nice la! BUT Angeline thinks that the food are quite pricey. Please go and try when you strike lottery k? AND remember to bring Angeline along! Heh!

Coffee or Tea

This is a hard choice for Angeline. Usually, Ck will help Angeline to decide. For example, if Angeline takes coffee, Ck will order tea. Just in case Angeline changes her mind, she can always exchange it with Ck. Hee!

And Angeline's friend, Yuan happily told her that there is a drink called 'Ying Yong'. Bish!

Curse and Swear

Angeline is going to curse and swear her stomach flu. Because of it, Angeline had to continue her congee 'diet' even on her friday date with Ck. ARGH!

To make her date more 'romantic', Angeline then suggested to Ck to go to Chinatown for Frogs' Legs Congee. Ck being Ck, he agreed to it readily. Unknown to him (and Angeline too), Angeline has missed out the most important information of her eating it more than 8 years ago totally. When they reached the place, it was not a surprise that the shop no longer existed (BUT of course, so many years ago leh).

Clueless about where to find congee, Angeline and Ck walked around Chinatown like a pair of tourists. Not funny, ok? At last, Ck relented and suggested eating the Chicken Rice from their favourite shop. Hurray for Angeline!

Unfortunately, there was this 'Tak Po' shop that is located 3 to 4 shops next to the Chicken Rice shop and that shop sells congee. BOO! In the end, Angeline still had to eat congee.

To humour Angeline, Ck ordered Pork Ribs, Lo Mai Gai, Mixed Pork Congee, Frogs' Legs and Chee Cheong Fun for sharing. Honestly, Ck helped Angeline to eat the Lo Mai Gai, as it was TOO oily for her. Thankfully, Angeline was still able to eat the rest and NOT watch Ck savour the food RIGHT in front of her again. Phew!

Good news for Tak Po! It has gained a loyal customer and that person is Angeline. Angeline likes the food there, especially the Chee Cheong Fun! Yum-Yum! From the menu, Angeline is keen to try the rest of the congee and dim-sum at Tak Po. Hee!

Ck was stuffed to his brim after dinner but Angeline still wanted to eat her desserts at Wei Xiang Yuen (recommended by Yuan). After some 'watery eyes drama' from Angeline (her forte), they are off to Wei Xiang Yuen. To be a 'tweet-tweet' girlfriend, Angeline suggested sharing a bowl of Mango Sago with Pomelo with Ck. It was a wrong choice because it was really too good and Angeline is still craving for it NOW!

Special thanks to Ck for making Angeline's stomach flu seemed so easy to get through. The congee feast and everything 'tweet' done for Angeline was greatly appreciated. Of course, cam-whoring with Angeline made her very very very happy too!

New but not that NEW!

Angeline is not going to talk about anything new other than food and Ck. Boring, yeah?

And naturally, Angeline got some new food to recommend. Was that old news? Yeah, but what to do? Welcome to Angeline's world!

As Angeline was sick with stomach flu for the past week, she practically survived on congee. If you think Ck is those 'tweet-tweet' partner who will accompany Angeline to eat congee as well, you are not right leh.

Angeline and Ck went to Crystal Jade at Sun Tec for dinner. Of course, Angeline had no other choice but to order congee (under Ck's 'strict' watcing eyes). To humour herself, Angeline got herself a bowl of Mixed Pork Congee (Angeline's favourite) while she watched Ck savouring his plate of Crispy Seafood Noodles. Angeline swore to eat that when she got better! Humph!

Thankfully, Ck was 'tweet' enough to get Angeline a bowl of Wanton Soup to humour her. Ok, there is this Hokkien saying when it is translated into Singlish, it goes "No fish, scrimps also can la." Angeline felt 'tweet-'tweet' after eating that bowl of Wanton Soup.

Best of all, Ck agreed to take photographs happily when he was asked to (Ck is camera-shy la). Hurray!

P/S: Angeline didn't look sick, but she was la.
P/P/S: Angeline is back to normal now. FOOD!!!

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

It's true. Out of Angeline's sight is equal to out of Angeline's mind. Angeline had totally forgotten that she had this entry to post online. Until today (which was like 3 weeks later), Angeline found these photos on her laptop and realized that she had missed these altogether. Opps!

Before SD's wedding, Angeline met up with him and Cynthia (his wife) for a pre-wedding dinner at Bali Thai located at IMM. Pre-wedding dinner was meant for preparing and editing the MCs' script for the wedding. Thanks to Angeline's forgetfulness, the laptop went die before it could be completed (Angeline forgot to charge it la). Oh well, Angeline was left to complete it together with her co-MC (just in case you have not been reading the blog, it was Ck la).

But anyway, the food on the table was too tempting for Angeline to concentrate anyway. Hee! Oh! Something else distracted Angeline too. One of SD's friend (Angeline remembered him as Lewis, or was it Lawerence? Oh well!) came to join them at Bali Thai. At that point in time, Angeline was talking to Cynthia about the script and she couldn't help it but to turn around and ask him, "Are you wearing Hugo Energize?" That friend nodded and everyone looked stunned. Well, Ck wears that and therefore Angeline is sensitive to that scent. Now, you know!

Well, food is still more important to Angeline (as usual) and Angeline decided to resume eating (and of course discussing the script with Cynthia). What's more the food at Bali Thai was really good, especially the 'Mixed Vegetables' and 'Seafood Tofu'. If you don't believe Angeline (again), take a look then!
