1 + 1 = 2

Angeline is sick, so is Ck.

Waking up to a sore throat, stiff neck and blocked nose on Saturday morning, Angeline popped one tablet with the hope of getting better (better still, recover from it). Well, she got slightly better and was able to enjoy her evening. Much to Angeline's disappointment, the symptoms returned on the following Sunday morning. Just as Angeline was thinking of taking a MC for the next day, Ck phoned Angeline to tell her that he was going to a doctor to get a MC for Monday. *cough cough*

In the end, Angeline accompanied Ck to the doctor on Sunday evening, took dinner and sent home back to rest. Angeline then went home, popped another tablet and went to sleep.

On Monday, Ck got slightly better and Angeline got slightly worse. As Ck was resting at home the whole day, he was recovering and thus, he was able to meet Angeline for dinner.

Despite Ck's numerous attempts in persuding Angeline to consult the doctor, Angeline stood firm and rejected his requests. Finally, the sick couple decided to head to IMM for dinner. Angeline proposed eating at Wan Chai Hong Kong Cafe and Ck agreed (unwillingly), as he still has the phobia of the cafe charging him S$3.00 for a sunny-side-up.

Thankfully for Angeline, the food was fantastic. The Seafood Crispy Noodles that Ck has chosen was well-liked by him and Angeline's Baked Pork Chop Rice was baked to perfection. The Pork Chops were tender and juciy, even the home-made soup was good, full of taste (Angeline don't know how to describe the taste la). In comparison, the Milk Tea was not that fantastic. Angeline thinks that the tea flavour was too strong, that means no much milk taste infused into the drink. Angeline don't like. Giving credits to the food, Wan Chai will still see Angeline again.

Under normal circumstances, the sick couple should have headed home after their dinner for a good rest. However, Angeline and Ck decided to walk around IMM.

At 7.45pm, Angeline and Ck left IMM with 1 shirt (G200), 1 pair of leather shoes (D&C), 5 plastic containers (Daiso) physically and 1 glass concept basin virtually.

P/S: Angeline knows that she don't look sick in the photohraphs, but she is.
P/P/S: Angeline went home, popped another tablet and went to sleep.

Behold!

Having read so much about Angeline being the authoritative partner in her relationship with Ck, this entry shall reveal Ck's determination in getting Angeline to do something with (for) him.

About 5 months earlier (or so), Angeline and Ck caught the movie trailer of 'Kung Fu Panda' during one of those movie commericals that Golden Village has offered complimentarily for at least 20 minutes before the start of any movie. Ck was totally captivated by the new cartoon and has been talking about it (thankfully not non-stop).
  1. Angeline and Ck walked past the 'Kung Fu Panda' poster at Golden Village (Great World City). Ck would exclaim, "I want to watch 'Kung Fu Panda'."

  2. Angeline and Ck walked past the 'Kung Fu Panda' poster at the bus stop (at 1 Raffles Link). Ck would exclaim (again), "I want to watch 'Kung Fu Panda'."

  3. Angeline and Ck walked past Bossini that sells 'Kung Fu Panda' T-shirts at Marina Square. Ck would exclaim (once again), "I want to watch 'Kung Fu Panda'."

As a result of the above mentioned (classic) examples, Angeline and Ck went to watch 'Kung Fu Panda' at Golden Village (Vivo City). At least, Angeline could be ensure that the sentence would be extinct after 7 June 2008. If you are wondering about the sentence, Angeline suggests that you better close this window.

Angeline and Ck reached Vivo City about half an hour before the movie was scheduled. Much to Angeline's expectation, Ck was bubbling with excitment and he could not wait for the movie to start. Angeline suggested to take a walk around Vivo City and explore the mall. As it was close to 12am, there was practically no one in the mall and Angeline could only look at the window displays. Angeline presumed that Ck saw the opportunity and started to fool around, imitating the classic 'Kung Fu' move that was on the movie poster. To Ck's dismay, Angeline took out her camera and took a snapshot of it. Without much editing, the effects were definitely amazing and hilarious.

Stealing a glance at her watch, it was time to watch 'Kung Fu Panda'! Hurray! (Angeline is making the sound effect on Ck's behalf). A 94 minutes movie was just right for Angeline. Ck could watch his movie in peace without beeing irritated by Angeline's constant fidgeting. And the bonus for Ck is that he did not have to entertain Angeline throughout the movie, as she was very much engrossed in the cartoon. It was really FUNNY la!

Angeline's Rating: 3.5 stars / 5 stars

2 Gluttons

Angeline got a sudden craving for chicken rice last friday and dragged Ck to find it along Selegie Road. Angeline is not just craving for any chicken rice, but those that are served at the old 'kopi thiams'. As Angeline and Ck were at Plaza Singapura to collect Angeline's U700, the nearest place to look for chicken rice wuold be Selegie Road.

After walking around Selegie Road for 5 minutes, Angeline realized that the shop that she had in mind had closed down. Unwillingly to give up, she pulled Ck across the street to Park Lane to try her luck. Angeline remembered that there was a restaurant called Rex located at Park Lane that serves chicken rice. Angeline thought that she got really lucky when she found the place. Angeline and Ck then sat down happily to enjoy the chicken rice. Maybe only Angeline has enjoyed the chicken rice.

Angeline's taste bud would give the c
hicken rice 3 stars / 5 stars. Still feeling rather full, Angeline insisted on eating the beancurd at Rochor. Angeline told Ck that the walk to Rochor would be able to digest some of the food, thus she would be able to eat the beancurd. Once again, Ck was pulled to Rochor to eat the beancurd by Angeline.

On their way there, Angeline passed by at least 3 shops that served chicken rice. And all these shops are located at those old 'kopi thiams'. Therefore, Angeline began to wonder what did she mean when she thought she got really lucky just a while ago.

Ck offered to buy the beancurd and asked Angeline if she wanted some doughsticks to go along. Angeline agreed and told him to get one for him and one for her. What Angeline had in mind was ONE PAIR OF DOUGHSTICK. Well, Ck returned with TWO pairs of doughsticks and said, "One for you (pointed to one) and one for me (pointed to the other)." Angeline took one pair of doughstick and told him, "I mean one for you (pointed to one of the doughstick from the pair) and one for me (pointed to the other)." Oh well!

The 2 gluttons were super full from eating and decided to take a walk to Sim Lim Square to catch a bus home. Angeline offered to show Ck the way, as she is more familiar with the place. When Angeline and Ck were reaching the bus stop, Angeline began to wonder if bus service 66 stops at the bus stop outide Sim Lim Square. Angeline has presumed that it does because it goes to her workplace which is like 4 bustops down the road. Before they reached the bus stop, Angeline told Ck about her doubts. At that point in time, Bus 66 stopped at the bus stop, picked up some passengers and zoomed off. Angeline and Ck stared at the bus and Ck told Angeline, "One good news and one and bad news. The good news is Bus 66 does come here and the bad news is we just missed the bus." Angeline knew that already. Nonetheless, the 2 gluttons still managed to make it home.

Do You?

One of Angeline's friend just said, "I do" on 7th June 2008.

Together with the rest of Etonhouse (Vanda)'s staff, Angeline attended Priya and Nathan's solemnisation cum dinner at Fort Canning Gallery and Foyer. Since it started in 2001, Etonhouse (Vanda) has never employed any male teachers up to date. Just in case you are still wondering, the bride is Angeline's friend cum ex-colleague from Etonhouse (Vanda). Just in case you still wondering, the bride is Priya. If you are still wondering, please close this window. Oh well!

Angeline was all dolled up, ready to set off and reach the wedding venue, looking her very best. Due to the (damn) heavy evening traffic, poor directions of Fort Canning Carpark, confusing signage at Fort Canning and Angeline's bad sense of direction, Angeline arrived late. Fortunately, Angeline has Lissa to guide her the way and Shu Ping to join her in coming late. Heh!

Angeline waited for another 45 minutes before the solemnisation started and waited for 15 minutes before dinner was served. As it was Angeline's first time attending an Indian wedding, Angeline was bubbling with excitment and couldn't wait for it to start, thus the 1 hour was virturally a 2 hour wait for Angeline. Luckily, Angeline got extremely obliging ex-colleauges to cam-whore with her as a form of entertainment.

Unlike Chinese wedding where the DJ will play a super romantic (not forgetting emotional) song to announce the walk-in of the bride and the groom, the MC at Priya's wedding was the one who announced the walk-in. Quickly (and thankfully), the solemnisation was next on the agenda. Angeline thought that it was rather amusing for the Justic of Peace to ask if the bride and the groom were present at their free will. Angeline has always presumed that this is the 21st century and that question seems redundant. Angeline is not being rude here, if you like, ignorant is a much more appreciate choice of word to describe Angeline. Angeline guesses that this is the standard procedure and every married couple has been through it.

After the solemnisation, the MC announced, "Dinner will be served and you are invited to get your dinner at the buffet table located at the foyer." As Angeline and her friends were seated next to the entrance to the foyer, they were one of the first to get into the queue for the buffet diner. Angeline shall reinforce that they are not being 'kiasu'.

Looking at the programme line-up, there is a 'Kick Off Your Boot' item. Angeline didn't have the chance to kick off her boot and she has to leave for her movie date with Ck. Just before she was making her exit, the DJ has to play 'Heaven is a Place on Earth', Angeline wondered if the DJ was trying to tempt her with her favourite retro song. Oh well!

Warmest Congratulations to Priya and Nathan from Angeline!

P/S: Ms Shu Ping, when is your turn?
P/P/S: Ms Lissa, when is yours?

What's New?

Nothing is really new, as Angeline continues to blog about food.

Angeline's papa and mama is crazy (literally) about 'Rice Dumplings'. As the Rice Dumplings Festival approaches, Angeline's papa bought 30 'Red Bean Rice Dumplings' and Angeline's mama bought 30 'Nonya Dumplings'. Angeline is wondering what happened to her favourite 'Salted Rice Dumplings'. On second thoughts, Angeline remembered that there was an increase in the prices of the raw ingredients for making 'Rice Dumplings', thus the cost of 'Rice Dumpling' was said to have increased by at at least 20% (as compared to the previous years). Angeline is beginning to wonder why are Papa and Mama spending so much money on 'RICE DUMPLINGS'. In Angeline's opinions, the money would have been better utilized if Angeline spends it on the Great Singapore Sale.

Believe it or not? Up till now, Angeline has only eaten 1 'Red Bean Dumpling'. It left Angeline wondering what has happened to the remaining 59 dumplings, as Angeline failed to see any left in her kitchen. Oh well!

Salted Rice Dumplings
Ingredients: Glutinous Rice, Fatty Meat, Salted Egg Yolk, Mushroom, Chestnuts & Bamboo Leaves

Nonya Dumplings
Ingredients: Glutinous Rice, Minced Pork Cubes, Coriander Powder & Pandan Leaves

Red Bean Dumplings
Ingredients: Yellow Glutinous Rice, Red Bean and Bamboo Leaves

Where to find the best 'Rice Dumplings'? Angeline also don't know. Angeline can only remembers that her maternal grandmother is able to wrap saliva-drooling 'Red Bean Dumplings' and her paternal grandmother can wrap finger-licking 'Salted Rice Dumplings'. Unfortunately, one passed away and one had suffered a stroke. So, Angeline doesn't get to enjoy excellent home-made 'Rice Dumplings' anymore.

An Affair

Angeline is having an affair. She fell in love with chocolates, cupcakes, bread puddings, cakes and ice-creams.

Angeline is getting worried that Ck might find out. Fortunately, Ck doesn't read Angeline's blog, which means Ck will never find out unless someone reads this and informs him.

Heh.

An Episode of Life

A husband wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed.

He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table, that reads "Honey, breakfast is on the table, I left early to go grocery shopping. Love You!"

Totally shocked with the note, he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. He asks, "Son, what happened last night?" His son says, "Well, you came home around 3am, drunk and delirious. You broke some crockery, puked in the hall, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door."

Confused, the man asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me? I should expect a big quarrel with her!"

His son replies, '"Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your clothes n shoes off, you said,

"LADY LEAVE ME ALONE! I'M MARRIED!"

Moral?

Self-induced hangover = $200.00
Broken crockery = $400.00
Breakfast = $10.00

Saying the Right Thing While Drunk = 'PRICELESS'!

Indeed, there are truly some things that money can't buy.

We're F.I.R.E.D.

Angeline went out with F.I.R.E. for Italian food at Greenwood Avenue. As usual, Angeline was late and the girls were looking for a restaurant to dine-in. After taking a walk around Greenwood Avenue, the girls still couldn't decide between 'Fish Market' or 'Peperoni'. Eventurally, it was the 6 years old Maia who helped the girls to decide. Oh well! Angeline has presumed that they would dine at Peperoni every time (without fail) whenever they are at Greenwood Avenue.

Just in case you are wondering (for public) or unable to identify yourself (for F.I.R.E.),

F = Flirty Wahila
I = Irresistible Shu Ping
R = Radiant Jamilah
E = Exotic Lissa

Without much thinking, the 'D' naturally refers to Angeline and it stands for Dazzling Angeline. Honestly, these were NOT the initial meaning for the acronyms. F.I.R.E.D. have brainstormed and debated and discussed before they decided on theirs. As for Angeline, she decided on hers as this entry was being typed. Trust Angeline, the debate was definitely neccessary because the initial meaning were mostly negative and extremely disturbing for Lissa.

F = Frosty, Funny, Flamboyant, Fashionable* & Friendly*
I = Incorrigible, Interesting, Independent*, Incredible* & Impressive*
R = Ready-to-go, Robust, Rational*, Resolute* & Responsive*
E = ENOUGH ALREADY, Evil, Eggplant, Elephant* & Emotional*
D = Destructive, Disturbing, Dramatic, Determinded*, & Difficult*

Those words that are marked with (*) are added by Angeline.

The photograph on the bottom right was taken under extreme conditions. Angeline suggested Flirty Wa and Irresistible Shu Ping to take a photograph together. Reflex has it that the girls moved closer to each other and started to pose for the camera.

Flirty Wa: Do the slutty pose la!
Irresistible Shu Ping: Huh? (turned around and gave the digusted look when she saw Flirty Wa's pose).

The rest of the girls burst into laughter immediately and Angeline asked them to strike the pose again. It was taken successfully after 3 attempts as Angeline couldn't steady her hands. Obligingly, Flirty Wa and Irresistible Shu Ping posed for 3 times, with each time giving the same expression. Angeline was thinking, "Irresistible Shu Ping must be really digusted with Flirty Wa's slutty pose."

As the girls have been dining at Peperoni whenever they are at Greenwood, it got Angeline wondering why is that so. After thinking long and hard, there could be two solid reasons (prehaps).

Peperoni at Greenwood Avenue is highly recommended for its pizzas.

  1. Peperoni serves XXL pizza that could feed 5 adults and 1 child with 5 slices remaining on the table. Angeline remebered that it should be about 24 inches.

  2. The ingredients on the pizza were fresh and plentiful, as the photograph has captured the generosity of the pizza chef. There were scallops, prawns, mussels, squid rings, beef, capsicum and oinions (yucks!).

  3. The pizza crust is super duper thin. Comparing it with some other pizzas, the crust is the thinnest that Angeline has eaten. Therefore, it doesn't make you feel overly full or even bloated easily. Other than flying personally to Italy to eat the home-made pizzas, Peperoni seems like the best altenative.

Peperoni at Greenwood Avenue is also highly recommended for being a child-friendly restaurant.

  1. The child gets a table-sized coloured paper and crayons to do his or her drawing, which helps to entertain the child while mums and dads order and wait for the food to be served.

  2. After the child has finished with the first piece, the child can continue to ask for the second, third, fourth, fifth, ... . In short, Peperoni provides unlimited supplies of papers for the child to draw. Angeline suggests that if the child asks for the sixth piece, the mums and dads should be eating their desserts or at least have ordered the desserts.

  3. Peperoni offers kids' meal at reasonable prices. For about S$8.00 to S$10.00, the child gets a main course, a fruit juice and an ice-cream desserts of the child's choice. Of course, the cutlery is child-friendly and colourful. If Angeline is not wrong, it should be from the swedish company called IKEA.

Reading through the 2 supposingly solid reasons again, Angeline doesn't think that they are very 'solid' after all.

Angeline thinks Flirty Wa got the photo-taking virus from Angeline. When the food is served, Angeline just took the photographs of the appetizers and the main course and she was happy to start eating. To her amusement, Flirty Wa took out her (school) camera and asked everyone to start posing with their food (inside the mouth specifically). Angeline still continued eating, food is still more important.

After gobbling down 1 chicken wing, 2 calamari and 3 slices of pizzas, Angeline resumed taking unglamorous photographs of the girls while they were eating. To do the girls some justice (if there is any, heh!), Angeline decided to ask the girls to pose with their food. Oh well, the effects were really about the same. Angeline thinks that the girls should be thankful for something called photo editing software.

Angeline is just kidding la.

Angeline always believe in saving the best for the last. Angeline thinks that these are the best photographs taken for the night because Angeline is in each and every one of them. Heh!

P/S: Radiant Jam, sorry to exclude you. The lighting was really off and no amount of photo editing was able to help. What is the morale of the story? Don't be camera shy la, take many, many, many photographs, so that Angeline can pick the best out of the rest.

I beg your pardon?

Angeline has been a loyal customer of Samsung till 3rd June 2008.

Angeline has sent her U700 to Samsung Service Centre located at Plaza Singapura on 15 May 2008. The reported fault of the mobile were as followed:

1) There was no ringtone for incoming calls.
2) The caller was unable to hear the other party during calls.
3) The paint was peeling off.

The staff at the service counter then issued Angeline an acknowledge form and informed her that the repairs would usually take around 3 to 5 days. If Angeline'a basic arithmetic calculation are correct, the latest date that Angeline should recieve her phone is on 20th May 2008. No call or sms (as promised) was recieved by Angeline during this time frame.

Angeline thought that there might be something seriously wrong with her U700 and decided to wait for a few more days. After which, Angeline decided to give Samsung a courtesy call to check on her phone's repair status. To her utmost disbelief, the staff at Samsung call center told her that there is NO record of her phone being sent for repairs. GEE!

Angeline told the staff that she has a copy of the acknowledge form and requested the staff to double check again. Well, the staff hang up on Angeline. Angeline presumed that his balls are itching and he really need to scatch them immediately and hung up on her accidently. Oh well! Nonetheless, Angeline has made a mental note to complain to Samsung about the staff's attitude after this incident is resolved.

Subsequently, Angeline called Samsung call centre again and spoke to another staff. The staff told Angeline that she would check with the Service Centre at Plaza Singapura and get back to her as soon as possible. Thus, Angeline waited for another day and she did not recieved any call from Samsung.

Naturally (and furiously), Angeline rang Samsung call centre the next day to check on the status again. ONCE AGAIN, the staff told her to wait for their call and she would try to expedite her request.

Oh well! Angeline is going to give Samsung just one last day before she lodges a complaint.

Angeline thought of some probabilities that could have happened to her U700.

1) The staff at the Service Centre lost Angeline's phone.
2) The staff at the Repair Centre lost Angeline's phone.
3) The driver in charge of transportation lost Angeline's phone.

All in all, Samsung had lost Angeline's phone.

Angeline guess that she may get a new and FREE phone on the courtesy of Samsung.

To think Angeline has been supporting Samsung all these years, from E700 to D510 to U700. Oh well! It is time for Angeline to re-consider her choice.

Give Angeline the VIP card!

Angeline thinks she can jolly well go and apply for Cafe Cartel' VIP card (if there's any). Angeline has been dinning at Cafe Cartel over the weekend and on Monday with Ck.

Being a true Singaporean, Angeline and Ck took some slices of the (free-flow) bread while waiting for their main course. Honestly, this was Angeline's first attempt at slicing the bread at the board. Angeline don't think she will try it again. After the tedious attempt, Angeline took a mini-cup of olive oil for the bread to share with Ck. As Angeline sat down, Ck rose up from his seat to get another mini-cup of olive oil. Not enough meh?

This triggered Angeline's memory of this particular incident. As mentioned, Angeline met the Ngs for breakfast at Cafe Cartel. Raymond volunteered to get the bread for the girls. As Pauline likes to dip her bread in olive oil, Raymond remember to get a mini-cup half full of olive oil for her. When Pauline saw the amount of olive oil, she gestured to Raymond that it was not enough. Therefore, Raymond walked back to the bread station and he returned with the whole bottle of olive oil for Pauline. Maybe Angeline should do the same to Ck too?

Angeline would recommend the Cartel's Pan Fried Macaroni for spicy food lovers. Angeline doesn't really like macaroni and thus she changed it to spaghetti. Well, Angeline thinks that it tasted as good (if not better). However, it was a little too spicy for Angeline and she shared a third of the portion with Ck. Ck's Grilled Chicken was equally appetizing and Angeline was more than happy when Ck shared with her.

For all Citibank cardholders, there is a 15% discount for any dine-in at Cafe Cartel. Prehaps Cafe Cartel should consider hiring Angeline as a spokeperson.

Massive shopping after dinner! Angeline got a cocktail dress from Mphasis, Royal Herbal Jelly Foundation from Skin Food, Make-up pouch + eyelasher curler + lip gloss from SaSa.

Angeline is broke, so is Ck. Ok, maybe not Ck, BUT definitely Angeline.

Angeline and Breakfast?

The 2 words doesn't go together. Angeline doesn't take breakfast now, what's more on a Saturday morning when she can sleep till it is time for lunch.

However, Angeline had a date with someone special and she made the extra effort to wake up earlier. Oh well, she just made it in time for brunch. The special one is not Ck. Besides, Angeline doesn't think Ck is keen to wake up early on a Saturday morning and come all the way to accompany Angeline to eat breakfast.

The special one has a nickname (given by Angeline) known as 'Precious'. She is Angeline's ex-student from Etonhouse. Precious was not exactly in Angeline's class, but she was taken care by Angeline during evening duties for the 2 years that Angeline was in Etonhouse. Since then, they have been very close. Despite Angeline has moved onto a new career, they are still in touch. Therefore, Angeline will like to thank Pauline (Precious's mama). If not, how otherwise can a 4 years old meet Angeline at IMM's Cafe Cartel for breakfast?

Angeline was super excited about this gathering because she was meeitng the new memeber of Precious's family for the first time. She is called Geraldine (Precious's new born sister).

Angeline has been a faithful reader of Pauline's blog and she keeps herself updated with their updates. From the photographs posted on the blog, Geraldine looks big. In reality, Geraldine is NOT that big. You have to see to understand. Despite so, Geraldine is a strong baby, she doesn't need much support for her neck and you can just lift her up and her head won't tilt backwards. Impressive eh!!! Well, at least Angeline is impressed.

Breakfast was agreed at Cafe Cartel. It was Angeline's first time patronizing Cafe Cartel for breakfast. Prehaps, Angeline will go again if she ever manage to wake up in time. That means Angeline likes the food there la. What's more the prices are reasonable, they are similar to that of MacDonald's.

Nothing really change. Precious is still as *tweet* as Angeline can remember. She will still look at Angeline and say, "I love you, Ms Angeline." To which, Angeline couldn't help teasing her by asking, "How much?" Without a second thought, Precious would stretch out her hands far apart and reply, "This much." *tweet* as not?

I'm Lovin' It!

Angeline and Ck went to catch Chronicles of Narnia (Prince Caspian) at Great World City. Generally, Angeline likes to watch movies at that place. First, the entrance is the exit, therefore Angeline doesn't have to walk one big round to get back to the shopping mall when she leaves the cinema. Second, Great World City is not as crowded as the rest of the cinemas in Singapore, therefore Angeline doesn't have to squeeze in the crowd with strangers.

As the movie would start at only 12.15am (fliter another 20 minutes for commericals and previews), Angeline and Ck have another 2 hours to spare before it starts. As TCC was still under renovation, Angeline and Ck only had Mac Cafe as their option before they entered the cinema. Angeline supposed that a White Chocolate Raspberry Cake and Mango Smoothie would be enough to entertain them for 2 hours.

Ck was more than happy to spend 2 hours reading his novel, whereas Angeline got restless and started playing with her phone after 1 hour. Other than snapping here and there, Angeline has nothing to entertain herself practically.

Thankfully (fortunately for Ck), the snapping here and there was good enough to occupy Angeline for another hour. Angeline was looking forward to the movie, as she had enjoyed the first. Naturally, she has presumed the second one would be good as well.

True enough, Prince Caspian was as good as (if not better than) the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Nonetheless, the running time for the movie was a little bit too long for Angeline. Her bio-clock started ringing after one and a half hour and she started to fidget endlessly till the end of the movie.

Honestly, Angeline wonders if Ck ever gets irritated when Angeline starts to fidget (without fail) after sitting down for an hour and a half.

P/S: Narnia is being spelled wrongly in the photo (once again - think *Gastronomia*). However, Angeline is still too lazy to make the changes. Oh well!

HS at NYP

Angeline went to Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) for the second Health Seminar in 2008. As usual, Angeline went with Oh-Tai and the pair were only interested in the tea break. Comparing this seminar with the one held at Republic Polytechnic (RP), the tea offered was heavenly (to be more precise, there was NO tea reception at the previous seminar). This time round, there were Honey Chicken Wings, Spring Rolls, Kuehs, Pizzas, Mango cakes, Strawberry cakes and Chocolate Muffins.

Why is Angeline blogging only about the food? It is because the Health Seminar is a closed door event and no member of the media was allowed into the auditorium. Therefore, Angeline assumed that the contents were strictly confidential. However, Angeline doesn't think the food menu is confidential. Heh!

Nonethless, Angeline and Oh-Tai were taken aback by the highest food allergy in children that was being shared during the seminar. Naturally, all pre-schools in Singapore (prehaps worldwide) are safe, as Angeline DO NOT think any of the pre-schools will serve such an expensive food. Angeline means it when she says it is EXPENSIVE. Angeline is going to give you 3 clues, either you get it or you don't.

1) It is a tonic that improves complexion (as believed).
2) It is usually served as a dessert.
3) It is available in ready-to-drink bottles now.

Angeline is not going to tell you the answer, remember this is a closed door seminar. Heh!

If you see a guy in the photograph as posted below, Angeline will like to introduce him as "Adik". That is all you need to know.

Angeline and family have celebrated 老豆's birthday at Kbox at Marina Square. Naturally, 老豆 was the happiest person for that night. Angeline has been warned to keep my entry short. So this is another short entry.

S$336 done the drain

Angeline just threw away 2 pairs of VIP tickets to Harlem World Tour 2008.

My 小姑 called me yesterday while I was having my Hi-Tea at Royal Plaza on Scotts with my (future) colleagues. She offered two pairs of VIP tickets to Harlem World Tour 2008 at Singapore Indoor Stadium because she was unable to make it. I called Ck to check with him immediately. However, he turned the offer down, as we are suppposed to meet my family to celebrate my dad's birthday the same night. I have to agree with Ck, because it will be disappointing to my dad if we failed to turn up. After all, my dad is more important than Harlem.

Nonetheless, the heart still ache at the thought of throwing S$336 down the drain just like that.

After Angeline has watched the first video from Youtube, her jaws literally dropped to the ground. Without a doubt, this video has attracted over ten thousands of views globally and many have responded actively to her recording. Angeline has decided just to pick 2 from the list.

Ultimately, Angeline is left speechless. Angeline is just wondering if these people have so much time to do these recording, why can't they just spend the energy to do some stuff that are more constructive? As least, Angeline can say that she has donated money to the quake victims (although the amount is NOT alot).

Don't PIKA Angeline!

Angeline simply has no affinity with this cartoon character, "Pikachu". Not only she finds it irritaing, she regards the high pitch "PIKA" that this character makes is capable of making her snap readily. The other night, Angeline and Ck were talking about children's programmes on Central & Channel 8, it started with R.E.M. (Angeline doesn't know much about it, other than they are 3 teenage girls with some supernatural powers, going around to do the world some good.) and the topic went onto Pokémon. Naturally, Ck started to "PIKA" Angeline and she made him stopped just in time before she decided to sit on him literally.

Pikachu

However, Angeline is indeed contradicting herself. Angeline loves watching 宇宙小毛球 when she was in Secondary school and her favourite character is 毛弟. Throughout the entire cartoon series, 毛弟 could only say two words, "对呀". BUT he managed to use these two words to express a range of emotions, such as anger, joy, fear and jealousy expressively. He would say "对呀,对呀,对呀,对呀,对呀, 对呀,对呀,对呀,对呀,对呀" (Ok, you got the idea) non-stop in his high pitch voice and Angeline would be totally fine with it. To a certain extent, Angeline even thinks that he is cute.

Now the question is "Then how come Angeline finds Pikachu irritating and 毛弟 adorable (since both can only say two words in high pitch tone)?" Angeline is unable to answer the question.

毛弟 is the little green ball.

亚坤's 'Quality Control' has shocked Angeline

Angeline is sure that most of her friends have patronized 亚坤 in Singapore at least once. For Angeline, she loves to drink a cuppa after meals at 亚坤 from time to time. As a result, the half boiled eggs were seldom ordered by Angeline. However, Angeline is aware that 亚坤 serves half boiled eggs that are almost perfect-looking with the promise that the egg yolk will burst in your mouth once you bite on it. Wow! That should make anyone (who loves to eat such eggs) to rush to 亚坤 to purchase them immediately.

Sad to say, 亚坤's quality control of producing such perfect-looking half boiled eggs has shocked Angeline. As usual, Ck went for his cuppa after lunch with his colleagues at Sun Tec City. While waiting for his cuppa, Ck saw that the lady at the counter threw away 4 pairs of eggs (that meant 8 eggs) before she served the perfect looking pair. In Angeline's opinions, that was a 100% wastage of food. Angeline don't see 'kopi tiams' in the neighbourhood doing the same thing. They serves all the half boiled eggs to the customers regardless what the eggs look like, as long as the eggs are half boiled.

Now the question is, "Is this quality control of producing almost perfect-looking half boiled eggs standarized throughout all 亚坤's outlets?"

Ka Yun - 'Kopi', 'Teh', 'Kaya Toast' & 'Half boiled eggs' (Please look at the eggs!)

Angeline even went to surf the Internet to see if there are any blog entry or articles about 亚坤's half boiled eggs. Angeline has learnt the importance of backing up whatever she wants to say with concrete evidences from another fellow blogger, because Angeline seriously don't want to run into the risk of being sued by 亚坤. Angeline got no money one leh!

The half-boiled eggs were a joy. Nicely done, not too much raw parts but yet, not too cooked too. Coffee was nice. It was thick and not diluted, the sweetness was just nice to my standard and preference of coffee so I didn’t need to turn back to the kind offer I was told. - Endoh Taiki

The soft-boiled eggs were how they were supposed to be: soft, wet, and runny enough to be slurped down in one breath. Small jars of dark soy sauce and white pepper are available for you to spice up your eggs. - Aroma

Unlike places in Malaysia, the half boiled eggs are cracked for you. It's actually a good idea as it was perfectly cooked without any clear uncooked egg. Drizzle some soy sauce (which is pretty thick versus the ones we get in Malaysia), sprinkle a dash of white pepper and you'll have a really satisfying meal. I've always loved half boiled eggs ever since I was a kid. It used to be our daily regiment to pop one tiny egg before going to school. - Masak-Masak

Please don't tell Angeline that the 3 people went to the same 亚坤 on the same day that Ck saw the server in action. Angeline is NOT a bimbo. Furthermore, Angeline has picked these comments randomly from several websites. Therefore, Angeline is wondering have these people paused for a second to wonder why did they get to enjoy such eggs all the time they patronized 亚坤. On another note, Angeline will still continue to patronize 亚坤 for their 'kopi' and kaya toast because Angeline likes to eat good food.

"Mei Mei don't want"

Angeline is going to introduce her youngest baby cousin to you. OK! She is not a baby, toddler is a more appropriate term to describle her now. Zhou Mei En is the newest addition to the Chua family (my maternal side). Amazingly, she looks like me and my youngest sister when we were young. In Angeline's context, "look like" is almost like the same. Angeline is serious here eh, Angeline hopes that you are not laughing at her or teasing Mei En that she is unfortunate enough to resemble Angeline.

"Mei Mei don't want" was one of Mei En's first sentence that Angeline has heard from her and it left a deep impression. Being half-Taiwanese, my aunties have nicknamed her called her "qie charbor" (in 台语).

Mei En is the apple of Angeline's eye now.

Angeline is in denial

Angeline just don't understand how could Chelsea lost to Man U at both EPL and Champions League?

Have you heard of Sunset Grill and Pub?

Angeline was browsing through Women's Weekly last month and she came across this restaurant. It caught her attention immediately because it is located near Singapore Flying Club (Seletar Airbase) and you can actually see planes taking off and landing while you enjoy your meal. Alright! Angeline is a sucker for such 'romantic' places. As a result, she is rather keen to try it.

Back to reality, Angeline has encountered some problems. Firstly, this place is very much inaccessible, as there is no bus services available. Second, going there by taxi will simply test the driver's knowledge of Singapore. Thirdly, Ck is not big on the idea of travelling
to some 'ulu' places to makan for the sake of novetly (only Angeline's assumption). Well, well, well, Angeline is going to pray hard that one of her friends is willing to make the trip with her.

Angeline hopes that these photographs did have an impact on at least 1 of her friend. Anyway, just in case Angeline is being charged for copyright, the above photographs are taken from another website. Angeline DID NOT take it herself.

On a second thought, maybe Angeline should just stick to Jerry's which is located at Club Street. Angeline has compared the two restaurants and found much similiarities. First, the buffalo wings are their specialities. Second, both are equally expensive (1 meal can cost up to S$60.00 for 2 pax). Third, the decor are very much the same (checkered red and white table cloths) focused on Americanized (if there is such a word) design. The only difference is Angeline can't see planes taking off and landing at Club Street. *bish*

Angeline is thinking

Angeline came across the following verses from a friend's profile on Friendster. It got Angeline thinking.

"Adversity builds character"

"A best friend is more than many friends"

"Karma is what goes around, comes around"

"Happiness is sought not given"

"The world is more than the community we live in, tolerate differences, accept others for who they are. Be a citizen of the world"

"Life is short, experience everything you can. Keep an open mind"

"Shit happens"

"If it doesn't affect you, don't criticise it"

"Don't judge what you don't understand"

"Try something different every once in a while, exagerate proportions, role play, walk backwards, get out of your comfort zone"

"Routine is boring, change should always be for the better"

"Everyone has facades, learn to look past them"

"It's more rewarding to emerge as the successful underdog than to be the acknowledged successful"

"Challenge convention, brave new ground"

"Life is a melody of happiness, sorrow, anger, peace, love, fulfillment, hatred and disgust unfolding in rapid succession. Learn to embrace it"

"Everyone is different, no one is better than another"

"Relationships built on serendipity last the longest"

"Nice guys finish last, cause they'll have the last laugh."

"You think you know, but you have no idea."
